Thiru.R. Mothilal
Mr. R.Mothilal is the eldest of 3 sons and a daughter of a farmer Thiru K.M. Ramalinga Gounder and Tmt R.Vellammal from Kuttapalayam village, now Kodumudi taluk, Erode district. He studied in tamil medium at Panchayat Elementary School, Kuttapalayam and then at SSV Boys High School (1964-1971),Kodumudi. He completed his PUC during 1971-1972 at C.N.C. Erode. He obtained Bachelor degree in Chemistry at Alagappa College, Karaikudi and Law at B.M.S College ,Bangalore(1972-1979). During his school and college days he was interested in sports and received several medals. He opted N.C.C. and obtained “B” certificate in College.
He was recruited as a Sub-Inspector of Police in 1979 through Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission and retired as Deputy Superintendent of Police on superannuation in 2012. He served the public for about 33 years with sincerity, honesty and integrity. During his tenure, for his meritorious service, the Tamil Nadu Government has awarded him the prestigious “Chief Minister’s medal for meritorious service and outstanding devotion to duty” (CM’s Anna Medal) in 1991 and “Chief Minister’s Police Medal for Excellence in Investigation” in 2005.
He is a voracious reader and interested in agriculture and social work. He is married and has a daughter and a son. His wife Tmt. P. Thanapackiam is working as Associate Professor in Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Coimbatore.
